And, I've heard people mock 'mommy bloggers' ...
But, despite the naysayers, I'm pushing forward. I'm confident that I have SOMETHING to say.
I spend my days and nights caring for and loving my two children, Grant (4 years old) and Clare (18 months old), and my adorable, inspiring, funny husband John. I love being there for them. Helping them get dressed, brushing their teeth, making dinner for them. I love being there for all the little (and sometimes big) moments, and I love that they know I'm here for them. Taking care of family is God-work and I am grateful for the opportunity to do it.
But, I'd be lying if I didn't admit that it's hard too. I sometimes feel invisible. My brain sometimes resembles mush. I'm hoping this blog will allow me the creative outlet I need... to think, create, contemplate. But, I also hope it will help me capture the beauty and magic of my every day moments with my children. Sometimes I get bogged down by the mundane instead of celebrating it. And, it's all going too fast, and I want-- no, I need-- a place to capture it. Otherwise, it might just disappear into the ether. Let's be honest-- my memory is not what it used to be.
A little about me: I used to be an attorney... I guess I still am. Afterall, every three years I hustle to complete my CLE credits. Before being sworn in by the Colorado Bar, I was a hard working law student. I enjoyed, and maybe even craved, sitting in the classroom learning something new and being challenged.
I'm fiercely loyal, tall, competitive, and sincere. I over-analyze everything, am a neat freak to boot, and am sometimes a little bossy (okay, a lot bossy). But I love my family and friends deeply, and I try to do right by them.
In my spare time you can find me reading, running, going to kickboxing or yoga. You can also find me on the sidelines of Grant's and Clare's various activities-- this Fall it's soccer for Grant and music class for Clare. I'm learning to love cooking/baking (thanks mostly to Ina Garten and the ever-inspiring Food Network), and I like watching football (at first so I had a reason to be with John during the Fall months, but now, because I actually do!).
So... that's a bit about me. Let the blogging and 'magic capturing' commence.
Let our husbands laugh...mommy bloggers unite!
